The season finale of the 2009 Japanese Championship has ended last weekend at the international circuit of Suzuka. Racing season has ended in a big style for Wildkart, as our partner, team SPS and driver Hiroaki Watatani, made their début in the top category on the Japanese soil.

The final race of the 2009 Japanese Championship in KF1 category was another important test for SPS, as team competed at the World Cup in Suzuka this year. Fine weather and championship yet to be decided, brought some new driver into the category, testing their skils for next year. Watatani did some important testing on chassis setup prior to the race, despite team efforts on new solutions he managed to qualify on 21st place. After prefinal he climbed the order to 17th, which was a promising starting position for the final race. Some bad luck with the first lap incident stopped Watatani to climb higher in the standings. At the end he managed 19th position in the final.

Wildkart has made a big step on the Japanese market this year, with the participation in the 2009 Japanese Championship with our partner team SPS and driver Hiroaki Watatani competing in All Japan KF1 Championship. Team SPS also supported skilful young driver Ray Hiratsuka in IAME Parilla X30 Regional Championship and made an impresive appearance with Nagisa Shimada in Lady's category with FlowerKart.

The top moment of the 2009 was the performance at the most important race of the season with entry made for FIA-CIK WORLD CUP in Suzuka, where the team raced with Hiroaki Watatani in the Super KF category. Watatani had a great start of the weekend as he qualified on 34th position. In qualifying heats he scored 18th and 12th place and that was good enough for 22nd starting position for the prefinals. But SPS driver had some bad luck in the prefinal race as he had to retire, at the end he scored 33th place. This was a great expirience for SPS team and WildKart as the chassis proved that it belongs to the top level of World karting.

Team SPS will try to bring the Wildkart chassis and parts even closer to Japanese racing circuits and tires next season. This was the main reason of their visit in our factory. After a factory tour the team and dirver Hiroaki Watatani visited the final race of the WSK Championship at Lonato, setting their sights on 2010 season. Their goal is to win the races. And now they are set to go International...
