American dreams

Kartel Motorsports continued its domination on the American soil as the team has made a debut in the opening round of the WSK North American Series by CKI at New Castle Motorsports Park. Drivers poured in from all across the United States to participate in this unique program, which was supported by teams across the country.

Blaine Rocha topped the points of First-Time Entrants throughout Round 1 of the WSK North American Series by CKI through his participation in both the Comer Cadet and Mini Max categories. Blaine, a part of the Kartel Motorsports squad from Northern California, drove his WildKart to an event podium second place in Comer Cadet, while scoring sixth in weekend results in Mini Max. Already the reigning champion in the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas, the Oakdale, California resident, with only 3-years of racing under his belt, will apply his CKI-sponsored entries for the balance of 2010 in the IKF Region 11 Program, where he participates in Sportsman and KPV categories. Blaine thanks his sponsors David’s Racing Products, Magnum Racing Engines, Kartel Motorsports, and of course, Mom and Dad, and now CKI, for providing him the support for his successful karting program.

Boise, Idaho resident Sting Ray Robb, just graduating from Kid Karts brought his WildKart home in third in the First-Time Entrant rankings. Another Kartel Motorsports team-member, Sting Ray was another driver to double-up on the weekend, participating in both Comer Cadet and Mini Max. Sting Ray honed his skills at the Snake River Karters Club for the past four-years, and now runs with the IKF Region 6 program, where he scored his first major win at Pat’s Acres in Oregon.

But that wasn't all from Kartel Motorsport. The opening day of the SKUSA SpringNationals showed yet another great performace from our american importer.

The field continued chasing Luis Tyrrell as the Wild Kart driver showed the way in the qualifying session. Tyrell posted a fast lap out of the box and was a comfortable eight-tenths of a second quicker than anyone else. Tyrrell was on his game the entire day and the main event was all his. From the drop of the green, Tyrrell gained a sizable lead over Mestre while Norris and Dement established a race long battle for the third and final podium position.
